The grounds are lovely, with a hottub and nice views, and it's close to Thirsk town center, Ripon and Northallerton. We've been three times, my husband and I, and plan to come back. The hosts are welcoming and attentive, the rooms amazing and spotless, and breakfast is delicious with high-end products. Nothing negative to say about this little gem, it's one of our favourite B&Bs. Lisa & Scott

Sue is a wonderful host, friendly and very helpful, and breakfast is the highlight. You get toast, cereals and marmalade, along with freshly made English breakfast if you order it. The rooms are quiet, very clean and have comfortable beds. Guests can use the pool and gardens, which are nice to have, though hardly essential in the UK. The B&B is a great base for exploring Yorkshire. It seems a little out of the way and close to nowhere in particular, yet it's only a few miles from places and not too far from any of the region's sights.

Sue and Ian were as welcoming as ever, and nothing was too much trouble. George the dog is adorable. We stayed two lovely nights in Barn owl, a spacious room, and breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. After days out, we relaxed in the hot tub. There are lots of restaurant options towards Thirsk and Northallerton. Thanks so much, Sue, Ian and George.

The hospitality was excellent, and we really enjoyed our stay. The hot tub and swimming pool were great, and the room had plenty of space, comfy beds and much-appreciated hot chocolate. The food was excellent too, aside from one minor issue. I thought the room had a bath, but I must have misread. Thanks, Sue, and George the dog is a big softie.
