The beds were awful: the soft mattresses sagged in the middle, and the frames were held together with plywood screws and had broken slats. A previous visitor had reported this in 2025, but it still hadn't been fixed. There were also serious safety and privacy problems. Every window was locked and there was no key. When I called, the owner's father said I didn't know how to open them and promised to bring a spare, but never came. The kitchen windows wouldn't open either, so cooking could mean smoke building up, and the house was hot with no airflow. A man we didn't know had a key and twice walked into the garden without warning to clean the hot tub. We weren't told in advance or asked about arrangements. My dog or children could have been outside, and I don't know if he was DBS checked to be around children. I understand tenants should get 24 hours' notice and give permission, and I sought advice because I was so angry about this. I wouldn't stay here, especially with a dog or children if their safety matters to you.
