The house was immaculate, and my room felt bright, spacious and full of little charming touches. Ian welcomed me with a much appreciated cuppa, and I met Carole and their very friendly dog Jasper later. I walked to the pub down the road for dinner. Breakfast was more than enough for me, and the poached eggs on toast were delicious. After a stroll, I had to head off. It was only one night, but saying goodbye felt like leaving family. Such a homely place for a solo traveller, and I’d happily recommend it.

My bike got a safe spot in their garage for the night, and I got a lovely start to my stay with tea and biscuits in the garden. Later, we had a nice chat while sorting papers for a meeting at Ians. Breakfast was brilliant and set me up well for the drive to Newcastle. Thanks a lot!

They made me feel welcome with a much appreciated cuppa after my long journey. I stayed for two nights and was impressed by every part of the place. Thank you, Carole and Ian, for being such lovely hosts. I hope I can come back someday.

A really cosy, comfortable place, and incredibly quiet. It was well equipped, the hosts were friendly and wonderful, and breakfast was delicious. What more could you ask for?

The breakfast was fantastic, and Carole and Ian were great hosts. I had a very comfortable room with a great bathroom during my five-night stay. I’ll stay again if work brings me back to the area.
