The rooms have all sorts of useful things, including Alexa speakers and several ways to charge devices. When we arrived, Graeme explained how it all worked, so we didn’t have to puzzle over the little things travelers often run into. Graeme and Eileane were pleasant, professional hosts who made us feel welcome straight away. Breakfast was better than expected and made exactly how we ordered it.

They were very welcoming to our dog, and we found the hosts lovely. Our room was spacious and clean, and breakfast was first class. I’d recommend it to anyone.

The owners, Graeme and Eileen, were so kind and helpful, and their wonderfully friendly dogs made us feel welcome too. The Hawthorns is a beautiful, well-appointed B&B. A lovely breakfast this morning rounded off our stay. Many thanks, and we’ll be back if allowed!

Just moments from John O'Groats and Dunnet Head, this is a perfect stop on the NC500. The hosts are lovely and super friendly, there’s parking on site, and the room was great, spotlessly clean, with a comfy bed and all the comforts you need at the end of the day. A good breakfast gets you set for the road. Warmly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay. The owners were wonderfully friendly and helpful, and the room was VERY clean with everything we needed. There was good parking too. They suggested dinner at the Northern Sands, a few miles down the road, and we’d highly recommend it as well.
