Camelot Castle Hotel

The buffet breakfast was disappointing, with too little choice for the price. I only got one small piece of bacon. The downstairs rooms have been renovated and look flashy, though some sofas needed fixing. Staff were a mixed bag: some were friendly and helpful, while others seemed uninterested. I told reception we weren't happy with our room, but the woman just smiled and didn't help, so I'll email the hotel next. Check your room choice carefully before booking. We paid £175 for one night without breakfast, and the room wasn't worth £75. The en-suite was a tiny caravan-style pod, with rust and a large gap under the door. Some rooms apparently still need updating, but nobody warned us ours was one of them. The old-fashioned feature fireplace was hidden behind a small old TV. The windows were filthy, and there was thick dirt in the carpet by the door. The radiator wasn't on, so we had to ask for a heater.

My parents came home full of joy and had an unforgettable stay. For my father's 80th birthday, they decided to treat themselves to a visit to the Camelot Castle Hotel. I couldn't go along, so I contacted the hotel by email and helped arrange a few surprises for their time together. It all came together beautifully: the owner welcomed them warmly, and there was wine, goodies, and room upgrades. Thank you to everyone at the Camelot Castle for making them feel so welcome and making Dad's birthday special. It was clear the staff went above and beyond. We slept so well there, it was wonderfully peaceful, and dinner in the restaurant was delicious. Our anniversary stay was lovely. The staff were welcoming, and the lounge, dining room, and bar were beautiful, relaxing spaces with stunning views. Our room was comfortable and very clean, with a lovely Seaview. It did look a little tired and could use decorating, though I know the hotel is being renovated. It didn't spoil our stay at all. I'd love to try one of the tower rooms, once I've saved up. Definitely worth staying for the experience.

We loved staying here on our honeymoon. The spectacular views made the drive worthwhile. The hotel is being refurbished, so the carpet is old and the shower pressure could be better. Still, it's a great spot for coastal walks and exploring.
