Hiking was so easy here, we could set off straight from the door without needing the car. After a walk, we could come back, soak in one of the bathrooms, then relax by the fire. We had the whole house full over the weekend and still had plenty of space. Just back from a great week at Shoebroad Barn. What a beautiful place to stay, with amazing views. Just perfect!

Shoebroad Barn was spacious, welcoming and fabulous, with stunning views. We had a fantastic stay, and there was even a lovely welcome treat of baked brownies and a bottle of wine to enjoy. Thanks so much, we'll be back!
There was much more room inside this lovely house than you'd guess from outside. Getting there is challenging, though, with steep slopes up from town. It's part of a livery stable, so the friendly residents of the attached cottages and visitors are around and active during the day.
The place itself was okay, but afterwards they scammed us. We cleaned up and even stripped the beds as they asked, which I'd never heard of before. The next day, I got a message through booking saying they wanted an extra £90 cleaning fee for a few bottles and a garbage bag we'd left in the kitchen because the bins were full.
