The shared bathroom was spotless, and fresh towels were there every day. I stayed in a basic single room that was very clean, with free WiFi and Netflix. When I accidentally locked myself out, the in-house manager was lovely and sorted it without any fuss. Breakfast at the Richmond Pub was included. I had a great stay as a tourist and would come back if I return to Scotland.

I checked out straight away. The single room was tiny, grim and depressing, and I don't think it should be offered to tourists or travellers. A triple room directly opposite has no privacy and shares a very basic shower room. They offered no compensation. The Square Hotel around the corner gave me a lovely twin room with a huge en-suite and breakfast for only £7.50 more than the Livet. Now that's a bargain.
