Blue Monkey Cornwall

Blue Monkey made a great base for our three generations and two dogs, with room for everyone and toys and games that the grandchildren loved. We had a lot of fun using the kayaks, paddle boards and body boards, and the little fishing nets came in handy for rock pooling. The house itself was spotless, comfortable and very well equipped. We also enjoyed the courtyard garden, with its colourful plants, outdoor seating and gas BBQ. Before we arrived, Blue Monkey sent a really useful guide with all the practical details and more. There’s lots to do around Kingsand/Cawsand, from walks and beaches to good pubs, and the ferry trip to Plymouth is a fun option. I’d happily recommend staying here.

We’ve booked Blue Monkey again for this year after another lovely New Year stay. It was our second year in a row, and the changes since last time really impressed us. The ground floor has new flooring, there’s a new shower room upstairs, and even the small suggestions we’d made had been taken care of, including soft protectors for the pillows and mattresses and extra veg peelers. The place is so well equipped that I can’t imagine needing anything else. Thanks to the team for another wonderful visit!

The storm left some huge waves over Whitsand Bay, and we also had a memorable walk to Mount Edgecumbe followed by lunch at 'The Stables'. We’ve loved returning to Kingsand and the Rame Peninsula over the years, and our early January visit was even better than expected. Blue Monkey was a warm refuge after bracing walks beneath dramatic skies. We spent cosy evenings by the roaring fire with wine, games and friends. It’s a special place for time outdoors and time with family or friends, all in a comfortable, luxurious home. We’ll be back!

We barely left the village. The beaches are just a short walk from Blue Monkey, which made it much easier when we were getting everyone out and inevitably realised we’d forgotten something. We fell for Cawsands and the house, and have already booked another trip. Our group was six adults and five children aged 0-12. The bedrooms were a good size and the beds really comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed for big meals around the huge table, plus plenty of things we hadn’t expected. We were especially impressed by the provisions for children. The paddle boards, kayaks and bodyboards were included, and we made good use of them. Thanks for a wonderful holiday, Blue Monkey. We can’t wait to return!
