We had a young baby with us, so having room to crawl around without feeling confined was important when choosing somewhere to stay. There was plenty of space, and the owners have made it feel like a home from home with all the decorations. It suited us perfectly while attending a wedding at Polhawn Fort. We’d certainly consider coming again.

The lodge has been thoughtfully put together, with tasteful, current decor and an ample deck. There’s plenty of storage, and the beds are wonderful. You sink into the master bed and don’t want to get up. We had exceptional views across the estuary and dartmoor from the comfort of the hot tub, with chocolate and presecco waiting in the fridge when we arrived. The owners have considered all the little details that make a stay easy: tea, coffee and sugar, household essentials including an iron, and enough glasses for a family of six, gin glasses included. Shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, washing up liquid, bin bags and dishwasher tablets were there too. Simon welcomed us by text and gave us directions to the site. He also checked in midweek to see how we were getting on and gently reminded us that the cleaners would arrive at 10am on departure day. Exceptional service and thoughtful owners. A holiday home from home, 10 out of 10!

The owners were lovely and made sure we knew how to find the place and checked we were okay. The view was amazing, and it felt just far enough away from civilisation. An amazing place to stay.

The owners have made this feel like a wonderful home. The peaceful surroundings clear your head, and waking up to the sunrise is lovely. We could stay here forever and plan to make it our second home. Thanks so much.
