Cleveland Hotel

The cooked full English Matt made was tasty, and we enjoyed having breakfast in the relaxed dining room. There was a great selection to choose from. We booked The Cleveland Bed & Breakfast at the last minute on our way to Torquay after I read positive online reviews. I’m quite fussy about where I stay, and it lived up to expectations. I called to check availability and book the deluxe room, and owner Lissanne was friendly and informative. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and well designed, with some thoughtful extra touches. We’d recommend it and would like to stay again. Thank you, Vicky & Paul.

Breakfast was so good I asked Matt how he got the poached egg just right. Lassanne’s marmalade was fab, and I had to buy some. There’s also a little bar in the sitting room. We had such a warm welcome at the Cleveland. The house is lovely and peaceful, and the people are super. Our room was clean and very nice, with decent biscuits on the tea tray, water and homemade fudge on the bed. The only snag for me was the hard pillows, which may just be personal preference, but I didn’t sleep well. I’d go again.

The breakfast was delicious and such good quality. Our stay felt relaxed, and Lisanne and Matt were warm, professional hosts. The B&B was exceptionally clean and comfortable, with everything we needed and more. We noticed and appreciated all the little provisions: hooks on the doors, mirrors in useful places, fresh milk in the room if needed, a super comfy bed, quality drinks tray, lovely bedding and towels, complimentary water and homemade fudge. There’s free parking too. If you book, go direct for a better deal than sites like booking.com.

The view from the breakfast room is lovely, and breakfast is a great way to start the day. We stopped here in 2021 while COVID restrictions were still around and had always wanted to return. We’re really glad we did. Matt & Lissane are lovely, and we had a fantastic stay. Can’t wait to come back!
