Hotel Indigo Torquay by IHG

The bathroom was the one letdown for me: it felt cold, was a bit small for such a large room, and the sink wasn't in the most convenient spot. That's just my opinion, though. The room itself was high standard, with a free minibar selection and a coffee machine, and the bed was super comfortable. The restaurant was high quality too, and the semi-buffet breakfast worked well. I’ve stayed in hotels across more than 400 cities worldwide, and this is one of my top choices in the UK and Europe. The hotel has great facilities and rooms, a wonderful view, good bus connections, and a convenient car park setup. It isn't especially close to a beach or a cluster of restaurants and nightlife, but it's still a strong base for a seaside city break. Devon has a lot to offer, and this hotel feels like the crown of the Devon coast. Come and see it before it gets too popular.

Gary and James were the best part of breakfast, working hard together and looking after us with real warmth and professionalism. Without them, our stay would have felt very different. The breakfast food itself was delicious, but one waitress, Monica, was unfriendly and rude to us. I also saw her criticizing coworkers, who seemed genuinely upset. I overheard another guest call her one of the rudest people. She seemed unhappy to be there and indifferent to how she spoke to others. Her behavior in the restaurant, including the way she spoke to staff and had long conversations at reception, was off-putting. There were plenty of good moments at Hotel Indigo. Our room was beautiful, with lovely views over Torquay, a powerful shower, and a very comfortable bed. We enjoyed delicious cocktails in the rooftop bar and a mouthwatering meal at the Reef restaurant. Marie served us brilliantly and recommended several dishes, while Kira was friendly and helpful when taking our drinks order. At reception, Izzy and Isabell were accommodating and gave us great suggestions for local attractions. I’ve been an IHG Rewards member for a long time and appreciate IHG hotels. I was genuinely upset by the breakfast experience, though, and would have considered staying elsewhere if things hadn’t improved. I'm glad I chose Hotel Indigo, and grateful to everyone who made the rest of our stay so good.

Marie made a real difference while we were in the downstairs bar. She was friendly, attentive to the details, and went out of her way to make sure we had a great time. Isabelle was always friendly too, a real credit to Indigo Hotel. Our room was modern, spotless and really comfortable, and the hotel exceeded our expectations. We’d definitely come back and recommend it.

I was here for one night on a work trip and would happily stay again. The staff were warm, welcoming and very helpful, and there were great sea views from the spacious open area at the entrance. The rooms looked fresh, clean and well presented, with a lot of thought put into the design. Having parking at the hotel was very useful. I’d recommend it.
