Marquis Hotel

I often use chain budget hotels when travelling for work, but this one was cheaper and better. The staff were friendly, helpful and excellent, and breakfast was nice in a dining room with a lovely view. I didn’t expect much at the low price, but my single room was very clean and well appointed, with toiletries, a hairdryer and plenty of tea.

The new owners are still working on the place, but it’s lovely and the rooms are very clean. We wanted to bring our pup, so being pet friendly was a real bonus. The owners were very friendly, and breakfast was small but lovely. We did prefer the buffet, since it let us pick what we wanted. It’s close to the beach and not far from town. We’ll definitely visit again.

We stopped here for one night while travelling around the south coast. The room was lovely and clean, and breakfast was lovely, too. The place could use a bit of updating, but that didn’t put us off. The staff were great. Recommended, and thank you.

We spent four days here with a coach party on a half-board stay. The staff were all friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our rooms were serviced daily, and we had a refurbished bathroom. It was a really cold week, but the convector heater kept our room cosy. There was a good choice at breakfast and a lovely three-course dinner each night. A lovely quirky hotel, and we’d definitely stay again.
