Joanne and Darren are brilliant hosts, friendly and helpful, and nothing is too much trouble. We’ll be back later this year. This is the first guest house we call, and this was our sixth visit. The room was spotless, with fresh milk in the fridge for hot drinks. Breakfast was freshly cooked and plentiful, and the fried bread is a must. There’s free on-site parking, a bar serving local beers, and two railway stations and the seafront within walking distance.

We had another lovely, friendly stay in the Mount Edgcombe room, which was spotless. Tea, coffee and biscuits were there for us, and breakfast was excellent. Jo and Darren were happy to help with anything. We’ve already booked to come back next year 😊

I stayed on my own for a weekend visit and loved Mount Edgcombe. The family-run place has lots of cute touches and treats in the room, plus great breakfast options. My room was super clean, with a giant bed, and I felt very safe. It’s an easy walk to the harbour, about 18 minutes if you go through the Abbey. The owners were kind and knowledgeable, and gave me lovely restaurant recommendations. There’s free parking and a little bar on site too, where you can have a drink and ask Jo and Darren for local advice. I’d 100% recommend it, especially for the location and the friendly local business. I’ll definitely be back!

We were a family group of eight and stayed for two nights. The guest house is in a good location and has parking. The rooms were spotless, with lovely white towels, and breakfast was freshly cooked to order. The couple who run the place were so helpful, with nothing too much trouble. We all agreed we’d return.

The wonderful hosts were the highlight, so hospitable and good at making the stay enjoyable. Our room was a good size, and the breakfast was lovely. The location is peaceful, with a quick walk to the train station and harbour. We stayed for two nights over the bank holiday weekend and loved it. I’d recommend this place to anyone wanting a nice break in Torquay or nearby towns. You won’t be disappointed :)
