Riviera Hotel

We upgraded to a refurbished room, then paid extra for one with a ground-floor patio. It was a good-sized room with everything we needed apart from a fridge. Because the hotel is built on a slope, our room was below reception, reached by lift or stairs going down. The Riviera Hotel was busy that weekend with several coaches, but it was well organised from check-in to the information provided. The buffet food in the dining room was good and kept refreshed, and the hotel is well placed for the beach and shops.

The buffet breakfast and dinner were both delicious, with lots of fresh, well-prepared choices. Service was great, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely return.

I was here on a coach trip and really enjoyed the stay. The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean, and the staff excellent. They helped fix my TV, which sits in an awkward spot and would be better on a bracket that pulls out into the room. A mini fridge would also be handy for keeping bottled water cool, and room service would be useful in future. The food was good, though more choices would be nice. I loved having the sports bar next door.

The only downside to our five-day Turkey and Tinsel break was the hotel being up an incline from the seafront. A little bus from near the Wetherspoons to the hotel was a godsend for me. Everything else was great: the food had lots of choice and was excellent, and both the cabaret and the room it was in were excellent. The staff were pleasant and helpful. All in all, a great break away for the eight of us.
