The Altrincham Lodge

The pub next door had good beer and food, and there’s a great Indian takeaway across the road. The local CoOp was handy for picking up a paper in the morning. I brought my own bowl and porridge, and the front desk heated it in the microwave. I stayed while training an employee and could park outside easily. Staff were lovely, and the room was to a high standard. Next time I’ll check there isn’t a neon light right by the window.

Our room was very clean and had everything we needed, with fresh towels every day. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we’d be happy to stay again.

The beds are comfy and it’s good value, but the radiators get uncontrollably hot and can be noisy. You won’t be cold here. If anything, you’ll wish the window opened more than 1 cm. For some peace, ask for n°35 on the corner, though the WiFi is weak there. For the strongest signal, try n°28 or n°29 between the wall mounted router. I told them three months ago that the website form sends emails to a defunct address, but it still hasn’t been fixed, so they’re continuing to lose business.

A warm welcome, and the hotel was just what I expected. Some areas look a little tired, but it’s good value for money and I’d stay again.
