We barely explored the area because the hotel was so nice to spend time in. The rooms felt roomy, the beds were really comfortable, and everything was spotless. It’s also in a great spot for seeing the local sights, with plenty nearby to do. We felt welcome from the start, loved the food and the atmosphere, and the service was lovely. We’ll be back, and might bring the dog next time since it’s dog friendly.

The food at the Castle is excellent, and the French chef makes good use of local ingredients in a relaxed, down to earth way. I’ve always enjoyed staying in the Beacons, but finding good food there has been tricky. That’s changed, and it makes a trip to the area more appealing than ever. Delightful!

We went to the restaurant on New Year’s Day, and everything we ordered was so good. The onion rings, made with vinegar, were the best I’ve had. My husband’s beef burger, coleslaw, and chips were all amazing, especially the coleslaw and chips. I had the French onion soup, the best soup I’ve ever had, then lamb cawl with tender, flavourful meat and lovely warm bread. I’m not usually keen on sticky toffee pudding, but this one was exceptionally good. The chef is very talented, and I’d definitely recommend coming here.

It’s right in the middle of southern Wales, on the main road between Brecon and Llandovery, with lots of options for adventures and sightseeing nearby. We had a delicious meal made with fresh ingredients, and the chef clearly knows good food. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the whole place felt warm and welcoming. Great location, food and staff!

We came from Cardiff after a friend couldn’t stop raving about the food following a visit last month. Now we understand why. We chose the à la carte menu, and every dish was beautifully prepared, full of flavour, and made with delicious local ingredients. The restaurant was packed, so the kitchen deserves credit for turning out such lovely food. Our French waiter was professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout. With a French chef leading the kitchen, it’s clear the place is earning its reputation. We’ll definitely be back soon.
