The owner was easy to communicate with, which put us at ease, and breakfast was provided free in the kitchen. We could use the kitchen and sit there in the morning before packing up and setting off. The dog was welcome, and children are too, though a stair gate at the top of the stairs is badly needed if you take the family room. We stopped for one night on the way to north wales. The house is lovely and old, and I imagine it has a lot of history. The area is beautiful, and the dog got a good walk in the morning. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The huge bath looked so inviting, and we managed about ten minutes in it before the two grumpy, drunk guests disturbed us. That's not really about the property, but sadly we didn't get to enjoy the bath. I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5 and would stay again if we're ever nearby.

The price was reasonable, and I enjoyed my night there, though other guests being inconsiderate could have made it a different story. The walls are thin, but I wasn't woken. My single mattress, though, was old and lumpy. I had a comfortable one-night stay in a spacious ground floor family room, with a good-sized, clean bathroom. There's a large shared kitchen and a separate lounge, which seem well suited to a big family gathering or reunion. I did wonder whether other guests might stay up late and make noise. Gaina was polite and efficient when confirming my booking, but she doesn't live at the property. There isn't a cooked breakfast. Instead, the kitchen is well equipped and there's a fridge for making breakfast yourself. Across the road, The Pump on the Green served good ale and restaurant food. The house is in the middle of a rural village, with access to Pembrokeshire beaches.

It's a lovely house, but there's almost no security. The front door is left open for arriving guests, and although the other rooms have locks, the children's room in the family suite doesn't. You can just walk up the stairs to get to it.

We have never felt so unwelcome. The girl we met treated us in an unfriendly and disrespectful way. I won't give her name. It made us focus on every detail we disliked, though it wouldn't be fair to the owner, who did try to help us by phone, to list those things. There's no staff member at reception, so make sure you call the owner before you arrive. I sincerely hope you meet the owner herself rather than the girl we encountered.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. The landlady will not admit fault! The place was unattended, with the front door unlocked, and the property sign was lying in the long grass. It was dirty and damp. There was used cellophane on the sugar and coffee pots, so we didn't dare use them, and there were crumbs and dried milk on the counter. Mould and peeling paint, too. A socket was hanging out of the wall, hidden by the child's bed beneath a hanging TV. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but this was not a good experience.
