Jo and Stu were warm and helpful, with ideas for things to see nearby. We had a spacious room, plenty for the two of us, in this converted old mill house. The bar gets a good crowd, and the Thursday steak night was popular too. Our meal was fantastic and very reasonably priced. We'd happily come back.

We liked the tucked-away country pub and its cosy feel, and the staff were lovely. The meal, though, was a letdown: the food was burnt and inedible, so we sent more than half of it back. The staff apologized quickly and halved the bill. We were told it was a one-off kitchen issue. We'd return for the atmosphere and drinks, and hope the food is better next time.

The Sunday roast at The Millhouse Inn was worth the short walk downhill from Trebarwith, where we were staying. My pork was melt-in-the-mouth delicious, and my wife enjoyed her nut roast too. A friendly young staff member welcomed us and served our meal. We live a long way away, but next time we're staying nearby, we'll have to return.

The location is excellent, and the outside seating areas and electric charge points make a nice impression. We stayed in the family room, but the room itself was only OK. The second room smelled damp or of dog, I couldn't tell which, and the blinds were dusty; the bedside tables hadn't been cleaned. There was no body wash in the bathroom, though that was sorted out. Breakfast was OK. My two grown-up children enjoyed their steak, which cost £16 and seemed reasonable.

The room was cosy and just right for sleeping, and the location was great. Our hosts were so friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond, and all the staff were amazing. We'll definitely be back.
