Wheal Grey

The cottage is beautiful, but the cleaning was nowhere near the standard I expected for the price. After a 14 hour drive and hours stuck in blistering heat with two young children and a baby, we arrived late in June 19 to find the travel cot hadn't even been set up. I expected things to be ready, and dealing with it after unloading the car was poor form and just not common courtesy. Then I looked around. One toilet had skid marks, and there was urine splashed on the walls around all the toilets. The showers were minging, with dirty glass, and every bathroom tap was smeared with soap and toothpaste. The skirting boards were dusty too. The kitchen was just as bad. The high gloss units had greasy wipe marks, the cups were dirty with coffee granules, stains and bits of debris, and the cupboards had dust, food bits and random debris inside. The sink was disgusting, the splashback was smeared with grease, our socks went black on the floors, and the highchair had food in all its corners and creases. The cleaning company let the place down. I wonder whether the owners know how it’s being treated. They’d probably be gutted to see it now. Nothing seemed cleaned to any kind of standard, and I expected it to be immaculate.
