Callestock Courtyard

Callestock Courtyard Cottages is our happy place. The cottages are beautiful, impeccably clean and well cared for, and Liz and her family welcome us like old friends every time. It's well placed for the coast, towns and attractions, or you can simply relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Thank you, highly recommended!

The hosts were friendly and very helpful, and the accommodation was immaculately clean with everything we needed. It's peaceful, down a lane, with plenty to visit nearby. Perranporth is about 15 minutes away by car, and there's a petrol station. The Londis store in Goonhaven is about 6 minutes by car, though not ideal to walk to. The homemade scones and farm milk were delicious. It was our first visit to Cornwall, in January, and we couldn't have asked for anything better.

The little things made our stay: fresh cream tea waiting on arrival, evenings with a drink on our private patio, and that morning sun coming through the Juliette balcony window. We also loved the clean, well-equipped kitchen and the luxurious bathroom. Wheal Jane felt like our own holiday home from the moment we walked in. It’s immaculate without feeling cold, and the restored cottages at Callestock Courtyard are clearly cared for all year by Liz and Nick. Nick even changes the well-stocked books around for returning guests. The location works well for both coasts and plenty of Cornwall’s attractions. Liz, Nick and their son Ben were lovely to chat with, and we enjoyed seeing their photogenic Jersey cows. We picked up excellent bread and pastries at Gorse Bakery and local fruit and veg from the garden centre greengrocer in nearby Goonhavern. Just fabulous. Thanks so much, we can’t wait to come back.

We’re back for our tenth visit to Liz's Callestock Cottages, this time in Orchard Cottage. It feels homely and is spotless, with a well-equipped kitchen for a self-catering break. The lounge opens onto a lovely garden, the bed is very comfortable, and there’s plenty of hot water for the walk-in shower. Parking is right beside the cottage. Nick and Ben also run the working dairy farm, which is a nice bonus. The cows are friendly, especially Beau. There’s a local shop up the road for most basics, and supermarkets in Newquay and Truro.
