Cliftons Guest House

Breakfast was excellent, and the whole place was spotless, tidy and extremely comfortable. We had a perfect three-night stay at Clifton's Guest House. Peter and Norbert were exceptional hosts. They made the visit, including Dad’s 80th birthday, really memorable. There aren’t enough stars for the experience, so don’t hesitate to book if you’re staying in Truro. Thank you both.

We came for a few days for an event at the Hall for Cornwall in Truro, and Clinton's was just right. It’s about a 10-minute walk into the city centre, with the rest of Cornwall easy to reach by car or public transport. Our room was beautifully set up, spotless and had everything we needed. Clinton's is comfortable and very clean, and Peter and Norbert made us feel welcome. They do a great job, and the breakfasts have a reputation for good reason: everything is cooked to order from fresh ingredients. We’d happily return, probably for a longer stay next time.

Norbert welcomed us when we arrived and knew the area well. The room was clean and well stocked, and although I didn’t meet Peter in person, his full breakfast was superb, cooked perfectly with locally sourced ingredients. We spent a week at this splendid hotel. Its location worked very well for seeing Cornwall, as it felt central for getting around. Definitely a five-star place, highly recommended.

We’ve stayed in plenty of places in Cornwall, and the breakfasts at Cliftons were among the best we’ve had. Both mornings were excellent. Peter greeted my partner and me warmly when we arrived in Truro and showed us to our lovely room. It was comfortable and very clean, with a good bed and a decent toilet. The guesthouse has character and is nicely furnished. Peter and Norbert were friendly and helpful, checking in about our stay and suggesting local places to visit. Thanks to them for looking after us so well. We’ll stay here again on our next trip to Cornwall.
