It’s in an excellent spot in the heart of the village, yet stayed quiet at the end of a long driveway. Getting out meant reversing down the drive. The rooms felt dated, and the kitchen was dark and dismal. The bathroom seemed to have been updated and had a good shower. The double bed was very small and could do with being upgraded to a king-size. Each morning at 7:30, the heating boiler firing up disturbed the person in the single room.

An easy place to park, just 100m from the centre of Pooley Bridge. It’s a cosy, nicely decorated place for two. The owners kept out of the way, but there was a good information manual. I’d definitely recommend it for a future stay.

A lovely cottage in the centre of Pooley bridge, with all mod cons and great walks nearby.
