Barton Hall Country House

The gardens and countryside around Barton Hall Country House were breathtaking. Lush greenery, rolling hills and a peaceful atmosphere made it a lovely escape from everyday life. Even a quiet coffee on the terrace or a walk through the gardens felt special. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel at home. The house has traditional charm and thoughtful details throughout. Our room was elegantly furnished, and it was clear the whole place is cared for with love. Inside and out, the atmosphere was calm and inviting, and we were able to properly relax. For anyone looking for an elegant, peaceful retreat in a beautiful setting, Barton Hall Country House is a gem. I can’t recommend it enough. Santa&Family

We were three adult friends and found the spacious Pixie room very comfortable. It was exceptionally clean and well presented. We shared a bathroom close to the room, and had access to two bathrooms, so we could choose between a bath and a shower without any inconvenience. The lounge, kitchen and dining room were lovely, practical spaces where we could make ourselves at home. Breakfast was cooked to order with delicious ingredients, and the service was attentive but relaxed. The owner and staff were genuinely friendly and clearly wanted everyone to have a good stay and everything they needed. Barton Hall is a beautiful building in a great spot for visiting Pooley Bridge and the surrounding area. Thanks for a lovely stay, we loved it.

The room was on the top floor, with no air conditioning, during the middle of July. We opened the window, but the noise from a large air conditioner on the roof was horrible. The reception ladies didn’t seem to like non-English visitors very much. The hotel feels like it’s from the last century. Anyone can do design!

A great base for a few nights, with a fantastic breakfast. Elsa, the owner, is quite a character and remembers us whenever we come back. The staff are friendly and do a wonderful job keeping everything clean and welcoming.
