Rainsbury House, Taunton

We loved how cosy the cottage felt, especially after a day out walking and enjoying the countryside. Val and Graham were lovely owners and gave us such a warm welcome. A great place to stay.

The barns and the surrounding area were even more beautiful in person than they look in the photos, with lovely views and the Devon border nearby. After our trip abroad was cancelled at the last minute, this was a wonderful replacement for my husband's 40th birthday. We felt welcome and safe with the covid situation, and the generous gifts and clear arrival instructions were much appreciated. We were a party of 12, and the table was ready for us all, with highchairs for the little ones. Stair gates and extra outdoor chairs were already set out too. The house had everything we needed for cooking, including dishwasher tablets and BBQ lighters. We had a BBQ for his birthday and a fry up breakfast. Dawlish Warren beach and Paignton zoo were each only an hour away, so we also took a few day trips to Devon. Val and Graham made us feel very welcome while keeping a social distance. We had a really enjoyable visit and would definitely look at booking again.

There are so many walks around this beautiful location, and we absolutely loved staying in the cottage. Val and Graham made our break spectacular. Thank you!

The accommodation was brilliant, and we really enjoyed the games room. The cakes waiting for us on arrival were yum! It’s a lovely base for exploring the Somerset and North Devon area, especially if you’re into walking.
