The county pub atmosphere, decor and surroundings are lovely, and the location is nice too. We’ve had lunch here twice, and both times the food and service were top notch. I’d wholeheartedly recommend it, even if you have to stray from your route to get here.

We went on Sunday, 16th November and had a fantastic time. The ales were great, and the Sunday roast was a highlight. The cauliflower cheese was delicious, and the meats were juicy and full of flavour. Homemade dessert finished the meal perfectly. Everyone on staff was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

A very welcoming place, and we’d stay again. The room was clean, warm and cosy, and the staff were really friendly. The manager was nice, and a special mention to "launa", though all the staff deserve 100% credit. Food was very good, with locally sourced meat, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was included, with a choice of cooked dishes from a menu. Ideal for a stay at alton towers.

There were 11 of us for dinner, and five stayed overnight as well. Everything was so clean, and the food was delicious. The service and the accommodation were wonderful too. We’ll be back!

We met friends here last Sunday because it was about halfway for all of us. It’s a charming village local with great service and fantastic Sunday roasts. I loved the lamb roast, and the others enjoyed their lamb, beef and vegan option Wellington roasts. Looking forward to another visit!
