Lower Micklin Farm

We came for Alton Towers, which is very close by, and the site was perfect for the trip. The staff were friendly, the facilities were clean and each hard standing pitch has its own water point.

The owners are friendly and helpful, and the whole site is beautifully looked after, with large pitches. It’s a great campsite between Alton and Denstone, handy for the Staffordshire moorlands and Alton Towers. There are good pubs nearby. Highly recommend!

The owner was welcoming and kindly lent us an electric cable when ours caused a problem. We were two families pitched next to each other, which worked out well. We cooked our own meals, so I can’t comment on the local pubs. We’d definitely recommend the site and hope to return when we’re in the area. For Alton Towers, it’s a ten-minute drive, about as close as you can get. The pitches are a good size, with plenty of room and a grass area to relax beside them. Facilities were clean and well maintained, with lots of hot water for washing up and a good washing-up area. The caravan waste area was excellent.

Friendly team, decent pitches and clean facilities. The shower curtains needed replacing, and the push button only kept the shower running for four seconds before needing another press. That got a bit annoying.
