The St Enodoc Hotel

We enjoyed the whole trip, including two nights of eating in Rock at the brasserie and the Mariners, plus fine dining at Number 6 in Padstow. The brasserie is good and breakfast superb. Staff were helpful, and the welcome was warm and friendly. Since it was early in the season, we were upgraded to an estuary view, which was great. The shower had a slight plumbing problem and only ran extremely hot, so they moved us the next day to an even better, larger room with a better view. The entrance at the top of the hill is very underwhelming and looks to most people like the back of the hotel. There are subtle touches from the new owners, and plans to upgrade the whole place, which could bring it to a five star rating. Thanks to the staff. We look forward to coming back after the renovations. It’s been 10 years since our last stay, and there are some notable changes.

I visited the restaurant shortly before it closed. The waitress seemed completely lost when we tried to order and pay, and didn’t know what anything was. Hopefully they have some new staff by the time it reopens.

We enjoyed the walk to this well located place. Breakfast outdoors came with a stunning view, was delicious, and the staff were great. The rooms are cosy, lovely and clean, with an amazing view, though everything felt a bit tight. Check in was okay, but not especially welcoming.

We only stopped for a drink, not an overnight stay. The views over the estuary are great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We considered having a cream tea, but went to the Mariners for a drink and some snacks instead. We’ll be back next year to try the cream tea.
