Westward 8

We only went to the restaurant for a family meal, not a hotel stay. We'd booked the night before and were given a lovely table near the window and fire. It was dark in December, so I imagine the views would be lovely in summer. The central fireplace and Christmas decorations made it cosy. The food was lovely and, in my opinion, not too expensive; service was excellent, with friendly, attentive staff. My only reason for giving four stars is that, for our tastes, there wasn't enough choice to come back more than once during our holiday without ordering the same thing. Everyone's tastes differ, though, so it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

We ate here twice while staying in Polzeath and enjoyed it both times. I had the pork belly dish on each visit because the food was so delicious. Lovely views and a warm atmosphere. Thank you.

The pub food was really good quality, and the apartment was cosy and warm. We had a great stay, and the staff made us feel welcome, especially Amy and Mike. There weren't any festive decorations or a tree, so we brought our own!

We enjoyed the Sunday lunch, though I thought it could have been a little warmer. It was very busy, but the staff stayed polite and helpful. The atmosphere was relaxed.
