I’ve stayed in several of the cottage’s rooms for business trips, and I think they’re lovely. It’s an old building and doesn’t warm up naturally, but the heating works well. The small food prep areas have what you need for a simple microwave meal. WiFi isn’t great, though I don’t mind being offline there. Cheryl, who looks after the cottage, is really friendly and helpful. It’s cheap and cheerful, and I like it. I’m thinking about bringing my wife and dog for a weekend sometime.

It’s a peaceful spot with easy beach access, lots of fresh air and long walks in the forest. Our dog had plenty to get excited about around the lodge complex. The accommodation had all the essentials, including breakfast and a washing machine. The bedding and towels were clean, though older and more worn than I’d prefer. There seemed to have been recent repairs in the 2b/r and toilet, but dust was still around, and I noticed cobwebs on the bedroom ceiling near the outside door. Boiler noise and loud lodgers upstairs interrupted my sleep. Aside from those small issues, I’d recommend staying or lodging here.

The outside looked a little more run down than I expected when we arrived, but the self-contained apartments were a pleasant surprise. They were clean and spacious, with everything we needed. The location is quiet, with scenic views along the road to Walberswick, 1.6miles away.

A cosy rustic farm house in a handy location, and you get more than you might expect for the price. It’s a cut above fine. Recommended.

Inside, the rooms are comfortable and have all mod cons, despite the very rustic look outside. The en suites are good, and continental breakfast is provided. The setting is very rural, with a 40 minute walk to Walberswick. The stairs to the first floor wouldn’t suit small children or older people.
