The service made the evening feel easy, everyone was welcoming and attentive. We came for a midweek dinner with four generations of family, and agreed it was one of the best meals we’ve had out in ages. My lamb cutlets were beautifully cooked, full of flavour, and really nicely presented. We’ll be back soon.

The rest of the family had a hard time choosing because everything looked so good, and they all enjoyed their meals. The three of us Scots who fish regularly had ordered Scottish trout, so there was a bit of pressure, but it was delicious. We also had a nice chat with the lovely proprietor of the Dartmoor Inn between courses. The dining room is tastefully decorated, and the service made us feel special without being snooty. We’ve been before and will come again.

My wife said the sticky toffee pudding was the best ever. We went for the Valentine’s dinner, which had a set menu with enough choices for most tastes. It was listed as three courses, though the included bread could make it feel like four, and a complimentary drink was included too. Everything was lovely, the portions were good, and the food was delicious. We should come more often, well done 👏

The staff knew plenty about the local area and were always happy to chat. We got a very warm welcome, and housekeeping was excellent during our five-night stay. Breakfasts were varied and enjoyable. The pub-style lunch and dinner menus had a few extras, and the food was good and nicely presented. A salad option would have been nice. It rained every day, but we still really enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again in better weather, if you’ll have us back!

We were a party of 11 for Sunday roast yesterday, and the food came out surprisingly quickly for such a large group. It was excellent, and the staff were polite and friendly, especially with the little children, which really makes a difference. This pub has long been a favourite of ours, and yesterday’s food and service impressed us even more. Thank you!
