Getting into Liverpool is straightforward. Walk from the hotel to Poulton Road via St Paul's Road, and the bus stop is there. The return fare was £4, and it took about 30 minutes to reach Royal Albert docks, including a 10 minute walk down Dale street. The hotel is also a two storey building with parking for about 10 cars. We travelled all over Europe this year and stayed in more than 30 hotels, including in Paris, but this was miles the best. The manager, Dave, and his staff were so welcoming and went out of their way to sort things out. It feels like a project in operation, but that didn't get in the way of their hospitality. The rooms were great for sleeping, with a bathroom and TV. Breakfast can be pretty much anything within reason. A typical one is two sausages, bacon, eggs, beans and tomatoes, plus toast and jam, tea and coffee. I can highly recommend the hotel, and we'll definitely return.

Dave, the owner, makes you feel very welcome, and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast that he cooked was huge, I had trouble finishing it. It's just a two minute walk to the ferry across the Mersey. If you're thinking of staying in Liverpool, this place is across the river from the Liver Building, with the benefits of central Liverpool but without the cost.

The rooms were beautiful and clean, with lovely bedding and shower facilities. The staff were the kindest and friendliest, and made us feel so cared for during our short stay. They made me a vegan breakfast every morning and shared great tourist and travel advice that made the trip smoother. A big thank you to your lovely family for all the generosity and hospitality. We'll definitely stay here again on our next trip to Liverpool. If I could give this place 100 stars, I would!

A joy from start to finish. The hotel was very clean, comfortable and felt safe, and I had a glorious breakfast. You can park your car safely too. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

The manager was first class and very helpful with everything. The location is perfect for the Belfast ferry, and it's easy to get to Liverpool by ferry as well. Breakfast was amazing. The only issue was the road noise in our room. It was so hot that we opened the window, but the traffic was relentless. The boss brought us a fan for day two, which fixed it. Great place.
