We had a good stay in the Standard Plus Room. We arrived at 2:45 and parked easily, but waited about five minutes for a receptionist. She was lovely, check in went smoothly, and we were in our room by 3pm. The hotel was clean and quiet, the lift was fast, and our top floor room had no keycard issues like we'd had at other hotels. The 12pm checkout was generous, so we didn't feel rushed and left a few minutes beforehand. Keycards go in a box beside reception. In the upgraded room there were two complimentary chocolate bars and a coffee machine with four pods, with more available at reception. A dryer is available on request. The reception area is small, with a large vending machine taking up most of the space. The lift is also small and can't fit many people, especially with luggage. A few things were missing from our room: there was no hand wash in the dispenser, no bath mat, and small bits of mould at the bottom of the shower curtain. We reported that after our stay.

The location was fantastic, but the service was abysmal. I had to complain before the room got serviced, even though I'd left the “service now please” card on the door for eight hours. There was only one tea bag for two of us on arrival. It felt like a DIY hotel, empty your own bin and bring your own refreshments. Honestly, we might have been better off in an Air B'n'B. The location was the saving grace.

Diana and all the staff are so friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make your stay as lovely as possible. The hotel is clean, comfortable, warm and lovely, in an excellent location. I'd highly recommend it to everyone. XXXXXX 💗

Avoid. I wouldn't say this place is value for money. We paid something crazy, around £190 for two nights. The room was clean and the location next to the marina was good, but it reeked of cigarettes and we didn't have enough towels until we asked for more. You also get just 30 minutes of free WiFi, then they charge you, which is absolutely crazy these days. Be careful drying your hair in the room. I was getting ready for a funeral when reception knocked because their smoke detection panel had gone off due to hairspray or the hair dryer. They were nice once they realised I wasn't breaking anything. It seemed ironic, given that somebody had smoked many cigarettes in the room before I arrived.

Good location with parking, lots of nearby places to get food or refreshments, and helpful reception staff. I gave it only three stars because I was charged a £12.50 amendment fee after calling their premium rate number to make sure we'd get a wheelchair accessible room. They told me there was an option to request this on the booking screen, but I couldn't find one, even when I checked the process for a future date. We booked a standard room listed with a double or kingsize bed, but got two single beds. On the second day the cleaning staff left us too few towels, though reception helped sort that out, and the beds weren't made again, which has been standard at every other hotel we've used. The room was very basic for the price.
