Pheasants Flight Cabin was just what we wanted: quiet and away from everything. They’ve clearly put a lot of care into providing what you need. The lodge was comfortable, modern, cosy and rustic all at once, with lovely decor. We barely heard a sound or saw anyone, even though two other lodges were about 50m away with trees in between. There are five cabins and a very glammed-up tent, the zafari lodge, which sleeps more people. We spent the evenings in the very private jacuzzi, watching the sunset. There’s also a BBQ, with two bags of coal. Rachel was a wonderful host from start to finish. A farm shop is nearby, and Waitrose is about a 20-minute drive away. We drove through some nearby villages, all beautiful traditional English places. It’s about a 200m walk to the cabin, and they provide trolleys for luggage. On arrival, we found fresh milk in the fridge, biscuits and fresh eggs. I loved the view of the Chilterns. It was the most peaceful and relaxing holiday I’ve had, and I can’t recommend it enough. We’ll definitely be back soon. My videos are too long for the 30-second limit, but the website has photos of the bedrooms and inside the cabins.

My partner and I spent two nights there over a bank holiday, and it was phenomenal. We stayed in Pheasants Flight Lodge, and the photos really don’t do it justice. It’s spacious and so cosy. The hot tub looking out over the fields was a gem, and the wood burner came in handy on the colder night. We used the BBQ and watched the sun set over the fields, such a treat. The whole stay felt relaxing and wholesome. We’re already planning a return in winter to enjoy the peace and quiet.

The best part was easing into the hot tub in the morning and spotting a family of deer walking past our cosy cabin. We’d just spent four nights here for our honeymoon, and already booked a weekend return in November. The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed, whether coming as a couple or on your own. Rachel was a lovely, helpful host. We’d forgotten our coats, and she offered us some, plus plenty of logs for the burner. Such a peaceful place to unwind. I’d give it more than five stars if I could.

Even with regular rain, we ate out on the terrace and it felt like the Mediterranean. Pheasants Flight is tucked into its own bit of woodland, with gorgeous views and the BBQ and hot tub ready to use. Inside, the bed was really comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, and there were fresh farm eggs. There was a wood burner too, if you wanted it. The photos don’t show how lovely the place is. We stayed two nights and got the peaceful break I’d hoped for. Rachel gave us space but was easy to reach and very helpful when I was arranging this secret birthday getaway for my husband. We’ll be back.

The sunset views and wildlife were lovely, and the hot tub was immaculate. The host checked it for cleanliness every day. We had BBQ bricks and wood for the burner, though it was 30 degrees so we didn’t use it. We booked Chaucer for three nights to celebrate our W/A, and wanted privacy and a quiet, relaxing break. The lodge was comfortable, well maintained, and had everything we needed. Wi-Fi was the one drawback. We didn’t need it, but it would’ve been useful, and the owner is looking at improving it. If you can, leave your phones at home, open some wine, and enjoy the views. Thanks Rachel x
