The rooms were spacious, tidy and a comfortable temperature, and we slept really well because it was so quiet. Michelle was a great help when we needed interconnecting rooms added to our booking, which meant our disabled adult daughters could stay safe. From booking through checkout, everything went smoothly. We also found a lovely chocolate surprise in the room, probably because it was Christmas. Thanks to the whole team, we had a great stay.

The unlimited breakfast was fresh and had plenty of choice, and dinner at the restaurant was tasty, quick to arrive and good value. Thanks to josh and the young lady for looking after us at both meals. At reception, donna made check-in easy and welcomed me with a smile, helpful local tips and a really friendly manner. Everyone was attentive and professional. I was impressed with how much the team cared about our stay, and I’ll definitely come back.

After an eight-hour drive, we got in around 11.30pm and were grateful for the friendly, helpful welcome. Check-in went smoothly, the room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. There was only enough tea and coffee for one cup each, though extra supplies were by reception. We were too exhausted to go back down for them. That little issue wouldn’t put me off returning, but it may help other late arrivals to know.

The room could use some attention: the table was held together with poor tape and the sink plug was stuck shut. Still, I had a very enjoyable time, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were both very good.

The staff at the pub next door were friendly and helpful too, and the whole place has that home-from-home feeling. Everyone at the hotel was welcoming, but Michelle on reception especially stood out. She’s chatty, always smiling and very helpful. This is the friendliest hotel I’ve stayed in, and I’d definitely recommend it.
