Twiga House Bed and Breakfast

The hosts were friendly and helpful, and the continental breakfast had a great range of things to start the day. Our room was clean and comfortable. There’s off road parking, and the rail and bus links are only a short walk away. The town centre takes about 10 minutes to reach on foot.

Jane and Alan were superb hosts, so warm and friendly, and this is easily the best B&B we’ve stayed in. We were there on 20/21 May 15, and it’s ideally placed for the railway station, town centre, walks, and lots of attractions. Our room overlooked the garden and was bright and spacious, with a lovely en suite bath and shower and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The tea, coffee and hot chocolate setup was excellent, with fresh milk and lovely biscuits. Robe, slippers and hairdryer were provided too. Jane even left a light on for us when we were out in the evening, and left us both some chocolate, a really nice touch. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide menu of locally sourced food, fresh fruit, cereals and yogurts. Eggs Royale were a must for me, perfectly cooked, tasty and filling, and I had them both mornings. A German couple had the continental option on the first morning, which looked delicious too. I had to stop myself taking the cheese and ham they left behind. Thanks, Jane and Alan, for making our stay so good.

The owners were very polite and keen to help, including suggesting places for us to visit. The location worked really well for Swanage, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very tidy, and the garden was lovely. There were thoughtful extras like towels for makeup and a hairdryer. Breakfast was very good too, especially the house omelette, which is a must.

Jane and Allan gave us a lovely welcome. The room was spotless and had everything we needed, plus a mini fridge. We’d happily recommend it and would return.
