We had a wonderful stay here last summer. The room was tastefully decorated and really comfortable, with nice little touches like fresh fruit, fresh milk and chocolates. When the weather changed, it was great having a comfortable guest lounge to relax in. The breakfast choices were second to none, the best we've had. Highly recommended.

A very enjoyable stay in a well-run B&B, with friendly owners and staff. The room had good facilities, and fresh milk for coffee was a nice touch. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was excellent. We liked the free early evening glass of wine and snacks, and the option to order extras in advance helped make up for there being no evening meals. There are good places to eat out nearby anyway. It's perfectly located for exploring the fabulous northeast coast and historical attractions.

That view of Warkworth Castle was breathtaking, and the pub right next door made it easy to head out, with two more down the hill plus little coffee shops and boutiques nearby. We had a fantastic two-night stay. The owner was kind, welcoming and easy to chat with, and the place felt classy and really well cared for. Our room was spacious and spotless, with a lovely modern bathroom. Breakfast was outstanding, especially the tasty Roxbro Rosti. The complimentary wine, cheese and biscuits around 5 were such a personal touch and perfectly timed. There were lots of thoughtful details that made the stay memorable. I'd definitely come back.

Claire and Stu made us feel very welcome, and Claire was a wonderful host who was happy to help with anything. The area is superb, with plenty to do. Our room was tidy and clean, looked out towards the castle, and had all the modern comforts, lots of wardrobe and drawer space, and a luxurious shower room. Breakfast offered a good range of continental and hot options. The eggs Benedict on a croissant was great, as was the full English. They also had complimentary cake, drinks and sweets in the front room, plus wine and cheese in the eating area between 5 and 6. I'd never come across that before, and thought it was a lovely idea.

Room 2 was just as comfortable as it had been when I stayed at Roxbro House seven years ago. The chocolates, tea and coffee with plenty of choice, fluffy robes and slippers, and The White Company toiletries are all provided as standard. Claire and Stu give you such a warm welcome that you can settle straight into a relaxing stay. There are two reception rooms, one with a roaring fire and an honesty bar, the other with a piano, so you can read or just watch the flames. They put out complimentary wine and cheese each evening, and you can chat with the other guests if you feel like it. There's also a big DVD collection and an extensive room service menu if you'd rather stay in your room. Breakfast, cooked by Stu and served by Claire, is excellent. There's cereal, pastries and fruit, as well as plenty of cooked choices. My wife and I have enjoyed everything we've tried. Claire and Stu are a real credit to the industry. You can find cheaper places, but Roxbro House is worth paying a little more for the welcome, atmosphere, rooms and food. We'll be back, and won't leave it another seven years.
