The room was a good size, with beautiful vintage furniture, a large bathroom and a dressing room. Bathroom supplies like shampoo, soap and bath foam were provided. The breakfast was lovely, but the hospitality left me less happy. The male host didn’t seem very friendly, and when we arrived around 20 minutes after 09:00, he told us off because breakfast was served at 09:00 sharp. We’d arrived at 22:30 and would have liked a lie-in after travelling 70 miles. We were told breakfast was at 09:00, with no flexibility, and I didn’t appreciate being scolded. The rooms aren’t very cheap, so I’d expect some flexibility and to feel welcome. We stayed for a couple of nights over Christmas, booking at the last minute on Christmas Day. I contacted the host to say we’d arrive in two hours, but the room was very cold. The heaters didn’t seem to work, and the electric heater barely warmed the room. There was also a crack in the window, which didn’t help. The living room was cluttered, and we couldn’t use it. I believe their grandson, somewhere between 12 and 15, was there the whole stay, which wasn’t pleasant. I’d give the room three stars, but less for the hospitality. I probably wouldn’t choose this place again.

The full English breakfast was cooked to order and worth staying for. It’s a charming, elegant hotel in lovely Watchet, with a warm welcome, easy check-in and plenty of parking behind the building.

Sharron was such a friendly host and housekeeper, and Keith took the time to chat while cooking us a lovely breakfast with Sharron. The Georgian house was amazing, with so much original decor and a wonderful refurbishment by Keith. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely come back. Highly recommend it. 👍

We had such a fabulous stay in this beautiful home on the eve of my wedding. My three bridesmaids and I felt thoroughly spoiled by the gorgeous, stylish rooms, and Keith made a super breakfast the next morning. What a chef! It felt like we were staying with family, and we had a lovely couple of days. Watchet is the cutest place, and it was ideal for my wedding at St Audries Park. Thank you so much, Keith and Sharon, for being lovely hosts. Thoroughly recommend this guesthouse. Home from home xxx

It’s a beautiful old house with history, lovely rooms and a gorgeous ambience. The home-cooked breakfasts were lovely too. Keith, the owner, is a foot surgeon who operated on the late Queen mother in one of his surgeries in Windsor.
