We had such a peaceful afternoon at this fabulous place, a birthday gift to somewhere we'd never heard of before. The gardens are beautifully maintained, with amazing flowers and trees, and plenty of seats, including shady spots tucked away in quieter corners. I explored every part I could, though the lake was beyond my reach. As someone with a partial disability, getting around on the stony paths with my rollater was hard work, while the grass was easier. My one disappointment was that there wasn't anywhere to get tea or coffee and a snack. Still, I'd definitely recommend a visit if you love gardens. Thanks for a wonderful afternoon.

The sculptures added so much interest, and you can see how much care and work has gone into making this a special garden. Labels around the grounds helped me identify plants I wasn't familiar with. I'd love to return in spring to see all the daffodils and other spring flowers.

We had a lovely afternoon tea, with fantastic scones and attentive service. The gardens are amazing, and the view over Wells might be the best there is. I grew up in Wells and had no idea this place was here! 😂

The gardens turned out to be a lovely surprise. They’re peaceful and laid-back, with a great feel and nothing too formal. It’s a nice spot to wander for a couple of hours while you’re in Wells. Just remember to call ahead, since they’re only open on certain days. You can get admission through Groupon. I hadn’t been keen on visiting at first, but I’m glad I went.

We stayed in the outbuilding, and the bed was so comfortable that I had one of the best nights’ sleep I can remember. There were plenty of complimentary drinks, food, and other amenities, and breakfast was a real highlight, with local cheeses and preserves among the choices. We also took a wander around the beautiful grounds one evening. I’ve already recommended the place to friends and colleagues.
