Thank you! We had a perfect weekend away with my babies in flat 3. It was nice and clean, with everything you need for a few nights away from home. We’ll book again xxx

The location was great and parking was easy, but there were several little problems that spoiled the stay. The bedding felt cheap and poor quality, and I didn’t sleep well. 100% cotton would be much better, and the mattress was poor quality too. Cleaning also wasn’t up to scratch: there was a used bottle of lube in the bedroom drawer, yuk, and the bathroom shelf was hanging off, leaving nowhere for toiletries. The oven smoked like mad when we switched it on, so it clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. These things could be fixed easily and cheaply, which is a shame because otherwise we’d return time and time again. As it stands, we won’t be back.
Apartment 4 itself was fine, and the wifi worked perfectly. It was quiet and close to the bars, and we’d consider staying again, but a few things need attention. The plates and so on needed washing, and there were smear marks on the toaster, microwave and table. The location is brilliant for getting to Whitby centre, though it can be confusing to find: the street is called John Street on one side and Havelock Place on the other. Normanby Terrace is a little alley that takes you behind the houses, where there’s no parking, so don’t go up there. Parking permits are supplied for the street, but if you drive off you might not get your space back, so best to avoid using the car if you can.
Getting a parking space was a nightmare with the zones, though the location itself is great. The ground floor was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The only downside was the noise from the apartment above, loud music at 6 in the morning and stomping around. That’s why I’ve given it four stars.
Flat 3 was clean and spacious, cosy and comfortable, with everything we could need close to hand. We’ve spent two nights at glenco holiday flats, and since we come to Whitby every year and have stayed in lots of different apartments and rooms, I can say Glenco has been our best stay yet. We’ll definitely be back!
