We used the property as a base while visiting family in the UK, who had rented it for a week. It's within walking distance of Whitby town centre, with useful spots close by, including a good fish and chip cafe and an excellent bakery around the corner. The owner said it had been extensively renovated a couple of years ago. We had minor trouble with the lounge TV, which the owner promptly dealt with by buying a large smart HDTV. Parking in Whitby is always an issue, and this property has its challenges too. All in all, we had a great time.

There was loads of room for the seven of us, including my partner's family, and the bedrooms are huge. The house has four floors: the kitchen in the basement, living room, then two bedroom levels. It was clean when we arrived and very close to Whitby centre. Amazing stay.

Parking could be a bit difficult, but Whitby's on-street parking is a nuisance everywhere, and it was already busy a couple of weeks before the school summer break. The house itself is lovely and very conveniently placed, within an easy walk of the Co-op, restaurants and town centre.

The kitchen is excellent, with room for everyone around the table and plenty of cupboards for all your food. This is a great base for exploring Whitby and the surrounding area. It may be called a cottage, but it's a wonderful four-storey Victorian house with lots of space: four bedrooms, two doubles and two twin rooms, and it now has three bathrooms.

Really spacious house in a lovely spot, perfectly placed in Whitby.
