Fayvan Apartments

The host was fantastic, friendly and helpful, with a good sense of humour. We also liked how quiet it was at night, even though the flat is next to the rather grand West Cliff crescent and just 5-10 minutes on foot from Whitby's beach and town centre. We hadn’t tried self-catering before, but we would again. It’s convenient and saves the cost and hassle of eating out all the time, and having separate rooms means you can have a bit of time to yourself. The apartment was very clean and comfortable.

Whitby’s Abbey is a short bus ride away, while everything else we wanted to see was under ten minutes on foot. These self-catering apartments are right on the West Cliff seafront. The hosts were lovely and welcoming, and the rooms had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked, the bedroom had bunks for the children, and the place felt comfy and homely.

Good apartments on Whitby’s west side, close to the beach. I really appreciated that the owner was a proper Yorkshire lady, as my family is from Sheffield.

Everything else was spot on: the decor, cleanliness and furniture were all fantastic. The hostess was friendly, helpful and around if any problems came up. We’ve just had a lovely first stay at Fayvan in Whitby. I’d like to say we’ll be back many times, but the flights of stairs nearly killed us. I’d mentioned that some days I couldn’t walk far, so I feel the stairs should have been mentioned when we booked. I know this is an old building and don’t expect an alternative to the stairs, but that was the one downside. Sorry to take off a star, though I do think they should have been mentioned.
