The film theme running through the place is such a good idea, and the decor is really something. John and Lisa were great hosts, happy to help with anything. Our room was comfortable and spotless, with lots of drinks and snacks, and the bathroom had top quality products. Breakfast was freshly cooked and generous. The little extras made this guest house feel comparable to a five-star hotel. We had a brilliant two-night stay, a gift from our kids, and it's the best guest house we've stayed in. Whitby is lovely, with plenty of places to eat and drink. Thanks for a great visit, we'd happily recommend it.

We came back for our second stay in Whitby, and High Tor is still the best place we've stayed here. John and Lisa are lovely, attentive hosts who'll do what they can to make your visit a good one. The movie and music memorabilia give the place a cool, distinctive feel, and the decor is wonderful. It's spotlessly clean and comfortable, with nice touches in the room like biscuits and a choice of drinks. Breakfast has great options, and the English breakfast was especially good for quality and flavour. Highly recommended, and we'll be back.

We had a warm welcome and found the rooms comfortable and immaculately clean. The guest house has a tasteful, interesting style, and we loved the welcome biscuits and sweets, along with the quality hot drinks in the room. There was plenty of choice at breakfast. The full English was tasty and cooked really well.
