Polochar Inn

The best part of our couple of nights visiting South Uist was the sunset on our first evening. The place is nice, the rooms are spacious, and if you get a sea view, there’s an excellent view over to Eriskay. There’s a comfortable bar with outdoor seating and a good restaurant serving excellent seafood on the nights they can get the staff. Cooked breakfast was great too. Overall, a good experience.

The beach setting is incredible, and the room was comfortable and nicely furnished, with local soaps. The staff were lovely and put in so much effort to make us and our dog feel happy and at ease. We also left something behind in the room, and they were very helpful in getting it back to us. Highly recommend!

I just stopped in for coffee. Nice place, the coffee was top quality, and the barista who was also the barman, from Wolverhampton, was really friendly and efficient. Thank you.

A great base for exploring the area and recharging. Our room was really clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed. Loved it. The dinner menu was good, and everything we ordered tasted great. The langoustines were amazing. Megan, I think that was her name, looked after us. She’s local and an islander, and ran the whole dining room by herself. She deserves a raise. We’d definitely come back.
