Knightstone Apartment

The last morning there was no hot water. We tried the out-of-hours number, but it went to voicemail and we’re still waiting for a reply. We had to leave without showers and boil the kettle to wash up. The manual didn’t explain what to do, and it needs updating because it still listed events for 2023. For what we paid, this was average at best and the most expensive serviced apartment we’ve stayed in in Weston-Super-Mare. The good points were the location, free parking and free Wi-Fi, but that was about it. Finding the place was hard, with no house numbers or sign to show it was a serviced apartment. The front and back of the building looked run down and uninviting, and the overgrown garden and seating area needed cleaning. Check-in was at the back of the building at 4pm, after we squeezed into a very small parking space. The basement flat was dark and smelled damp. Dust and fingerprints were everywhere, and we had to wipe surfaces and clean before unpacking. There were chipped and stained walls, and cobwebs and marks that looked like they’d been there a while. The beds were too big for the bedrooms, so my partner and I had to climb in and out from the bottom. The third bed was an uncomfortable, worn-out sofa bed in the living room, where seating was limited despite room for another sofa. The kitchen was okay, but the pots, pans and chopping board looked dirty and used, the stained backsplash needed attention, and the cutlery drawer needed cleaning. There was dried food splashed on the walls. In the bathroom, the vanity drawers were broken, the handles hanging off, and dust and rubbish had collected beside it. The toilet brush was stained and rusty, the hand soap was empty, and the promised hairdryer wasn’t there. It seemed whoever was responsible for cleaning did the bare minimum, changing the sheets and towels and little else. This definitely wasn’t worth what we paid.
