Great value, clean, warm and very comfortable, especially the beds. This cottage is beautifully furnished and decorated, with two large bedrooms, a king-sized bed, two toilets, three wash basins and a brilliant shower. It has everything you need, and the central location is perfect. We’d book again. Bring extra hangers if you use a lot, and your toiletries. Earplugs are handy for the seagulls at 5 am!

It’s a lovely cottage in a fantastic location, and we’d stay again. The two single beds were perfect, but the cleaning before our arrival was missed. I had to find the towels and wash them, and the double bed hadn’t been changed. The previous guests’ bedding was left at the top of the stairs, so we had no clean bedding for the first night. The cleaners came the next day and sorted it out, leaving a bottle of wine and chocolates. We really appreciated that.

After two weeks, the only thing I don’t like about Cobweb cottage and the village is having to leave. We’ll be back one day. It’s right in the middle of everything Whitby has to offer, with gorgeous walks. We walked from the harbour to the beach daily, and Church Street up the 199 steps to the Abbey was fantastic, with views for miles on a clear day. There’s plenty within walking distance: two great bakeries, a greengrocer, butcher and fishmongers. I’d recommend The Whitby Way for a cold pint and really great staff, and The Magpie for excellent fish and chips. The cottage is cosy and comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen for making your own meals, which matters on a stay longer than a couple of days. There’s a comfortable lounge with a cosy wood-burning stove for cooler weather, two bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms. It’s beautifully decorated and tastefully modernised while keeping an authentic feel. A perfect bolthole in the most idyllic #SeaSide village.
