I was told the owners had decided to renovate, and the host company had only just heard that the booking needed to be cancelled. But with less than two weeks before our stay, our accommodation was cancelled. I’m absolutely appalled that the booking wasn’t honoured. We’d planned a large family gathering for a surprise 70th birthday, and my brother and his family already had flights booked to the UK. This is an unreliable place to book.

It was only a short walk into town, and the B&B was lovely, with a really clean, well-kept room. We spent two days at the cooks quarters and got such a warm welcome from Liza Nigel. The room was fab, and breakfast was to die for. Thank you so much, we’ll be back.

Pannet Park and the museum are right opposite, and it’s only a short walk to the cliffs and main town. The Victorian building looks like it’s been renovated to a really high standard. A lovely place in a great location.

A quiet spot, yet Whitby town centre is only about a five-minute walk away. The accommodation was excellent, friendly and spotlessly clean, and breakfast was good and hearty.
