Host Stay Sherlock Cottage

Whitby is a gorgeous town, and even with Sherlock’s central position, we had plenty of room to relax. There’s a sweet gated terrace at the back, just right for morning coffee or an evening meal. I’m happier staying in Sandend during peak Season, though I can’t wait to try Vitty's holiday let there. Our weekend with Vitty's Cottages was our first time in Sherlock Cottage, and it was a real treat: a beautifully furnished house in a prime location with parking for two cars. It had everything we needed and more. Best of all, it was truly dog friendly, with a box of useful things, a bed, blanket, bowls and treats for our furry family members, plus treats in the little human hamper. We were four adults, though the layout would suit a family group as well. The owners were so friendly and welcoming. The guest handbook was full of useful information without burying us in rules, which we appreciated as guests who always treat a holiday home with care. We’d happily book Sherlock or another Vitty's Cottages stay. Willow, Walter and Boris agree, 12 paws up!

Private parking right outside Columbo Cottage was a real blessing, and the outdoor patio with seating was a lovely extra. The location gets five stars. The decor and attention to detail throughout were superior quality, from the facilities to the personal touches that made it feel like home. Booking was unbeatable, with great communication from Iain. Thanks again to the Vittys for the fabulous hospitality. We’ll definitely be back.

It feels like a home from home, with everything you need. The owners have put so much care into the details. Great location, and having parking so centrally is lovely. We’ll definitely stay again.

The cottage is finished to a really high standard, and its Whitby location puts all the amenities within easy reach. I’d gladly stay here again.
