Sandsides Guest House

The breakfast had plenty of healthy, tasty choices, including delicious homemade sourdough banana bread. I also got a lovely fish and chips supper from a takeaway near the seafront, recommended by the lady at sandsides. My room was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated, and the service was friendly and hospitable despite my late arrival. I'd definitely stay again if I were visiting the area.

Rebecca upgraded us after a cancellation, and the room was simply stunning, as was the rest of Sandisides Guest house. It overlooked the park and had a double bed, two singles, a lovely en suite and plenty of space to relax. Rebecca showed us where everything was, brought milk so we could make a cuppa, and helped carry our bags in when we arrived mid-afternoon. Nothing was too much trouble, and everything we could ask for and more was provided. We were in Whitley Bay for a concert at the Playhouse, just a five-minute walk away. After the concert we came back to sleep, and now we're looking for an excuse to return and hopefully book here again. We'd definitely recommend it.

Rebecca is such a warm, welcoming host and knows the area really well. The guest house was beautiful and spotless, with thoughtful extras like oat milk in our room even though we hadn't asked for it. I've never been offered that anywhere before. Breakfast was really good, with vegan and vegetarian options, and the homemade fruit compote was to die for. Both breakfasts were exceptionally good. The room had a nice vintage look, was comfortable and well equipped, and could be made dark and quiet with the blinds and curtains. Rebecca welcomed me even though I arrived very early. The shower was excellent, and breakfast was freshly cooked. Highly recommended.
