The Pear tree is such a cosy, quaint place, and the staff are warm and welcoming. In spring and summer the garden is full of lovely flowers, and the setting feels almost like a fairy tale. I do love it here and plan to return, though I hope the prices are reconsidered because I can't afford to pay that much for lunch. My roasted vegetable pesto sandwich on gluten free bread came with a lovely side salad, and every bite was good. The food is amazing and high quality, but I couldn't really taste the pesto and was still hungry afterwards. At £14.50, it felt priced more like a dinner main than a light lunch sandwich. That's the only reason I didn't give five stars.

A relaxed atmosphere, helpful staff, and a good menu made for a lovely dinner. The gardens are attractive and well kept, and the location is beautiful. The food was very, very good. I'd highly recommend it.

I left really unhappy and won't be going back. I can't drink alcohol, so when the woman suggested they had a mocktail, I said I'd have that instead. Somehow a lemonade was made and put in front of me before we'd finished ordering, by another staff member who apparently hadn't heard our conversation. I was left wondering whether he thought I wanted two drinks. When I asked why I was being given lemonade after choosing a mocktail, the response was that it had already been made and I had to pay for both drinks. The woman had first persuaded me there was an alternative to the alcoholic cocktail, but then insisted I pay for the lemonade too once the other two drinks were ordered. That attitude was not okay.

They fitted us in at short notice for Sunday lunch, and all the staff took great care of us. The pork belly was the best I've ever had. My partner really enjoyed the beef, and our son had fish and chips. We don't eat fish ourselves, but were told it's one of the best. Delicious meal, and thanks to everyone involved!

We booked a table for 11 of us to celebrate my husband's 60th, and they accommodated everything we asked for, including letting us decorate the table. The staff brought out the cake we supplied and sang happy birthday. The children had the best time, and the food was impeccable. Hats off to the chef. The Pear Tree Inn is stunning, with a wonderful atmosphere and location, and the service was 10 out of 10. Absolutely beautiful, outstanding. We'll definitely be back. If you're after somewhere special, this is it xxx
