The best part of Hut 9 was the sea-facing seating area with a table. You can see people walking along the coastal path, and on a nice day there are fishing boats, yachts, and more to watch. I stayed two nights in January. The heating worked well despite the cold outside, though condensation built up on the windows each morning and I had to wipe it away with a towel. Hut 8 is the only attached neighbour, and I heard a little noise from there, but not much. The ground floor has a twin bedroom with a wall-mounted TV and the property’s only bathroom. There’s a rainfall shower, tiny basin, and loo. The kettle won’t fit under the tap, so you’ll need to fill it using a mug or glass. Deck chairs hang on the walls for summer use, and there are coat hooks at the bottom of the stairs. The nine steps upstairs are quite high, but solid wood and much better than the steep staircases in some other huts. There’s a handrail. Upstairs, the very large bed was comfortable and had a good mattress and nice cotton linen. The wooden surround was slightly annoying. Plenty of towels were provided. Upstairs also has another TV, a mini fridge, kettle, microwave, crockery, cutlery, and tea and coffee supplies. There’s no washing-up facility, but housekeeping replaced dirty items with clean ones, which worked well. Wi-Fi was decent and the Freeview TVs had good reception. The parking spaces aren’t in front of Hut 9, unlike some lower-numbered huts; they’re quite small, but should be fine for medium cars. For check-in, you collect the keys and parking permit from Hotel Continental, about a ten-minute walk or a few minutes’ drive away. Staff there were friendly and efficient. Check-out is easier than on my last visit: you can put the keys in a locked box on the housekeeping hut beside Hut 1 instead of walking back to the main hotel. A lovely stay. I just wish the website gave more useful information about each hut, since what’s there is minimal. That’s why I’ve written a longer review, with details I’d have wanted beforehand.

The views from both floors of fisherman's hut 14 were amazing. We loved sitting on the deck watching the world go by, and on hot days the deckchairs downstairs are in lovely shade under the decking. The hut was super clean and fresh, though my Mum felt it could use a little touch-up since we stayed at the end of the season. She’s a fit 87 and managed the spiral stairs easily. Housekeeping helped us find the place because it’s tucked away and the map is 'out of scale'. Hint: it’s opposite Argyle House, Sea Wall. The drive to the allocated parking space is very narrow, but fun to negotiate. Coffee, tea, biscuits, cold cans of water, towels, and fresh linen each day meant we had all we needed for a relaxing break. I can’t wait to visit again!

We had a great stay in hut 9. The window seat was lovely for sitting and watching the world go by, and it’s well placed for pubs and restaurants within walking distance. Parking is tight, so I’d reverse in. The bathroom is very small but workable, and the water gets hot. Upstairs there’s a lovely large bed, very comfortable, with soft pillows. Beach chairs and a nice welcome pack were supplied. There’s no toaster, but we ate breakfast out, and there are lots of choices.

Cosy, clean huts in a great location, with good beds, bathroom, and kitchen area. The tea and coffee setup was great too, with a fridge, microwave, kettle, and sink. Booking in and out was easy. I’d recommend them. Just be aware of the low ceiling downstairs. I’m 5'8 and had only about an inch above my head. And watch the stairs, they’re at such a steep angle I’d call them a ladder 😁🤣

It’s expensive and very noisy, so I wouldn’t stay here if you want a good night’s sleep. The owners opened a cafe/bar right next to the accommodation. People drink and make noise until 10pm, then the cafe opens at 9am, with workers starting at 8am. Cars pull up and staff walk across the noisy pebbles outside. The beds are rock hard. The owners, who are at Hotel Continental, make you go there first to collect the keys. It’s a 15-minute walk or a five-minute drive down one of the narrowest lanes. I was told by an anonymous worker that the owners don’t trust their staff to hand over the keys. What a joke. The owners need to up their game or lower the price and let everyone know it’s three stars at best.
